The SCP 049 rewrite is awful

So 049 got a rewrite recently and I really don't like it and this coming from someone who doesn't think 049 was all that great in the first place. 
My main problem comes from the fact that every bit of mystery and horror 049 had was wiped out in favour for a boring character study that just makes 049 some crazy lone in a bird mask.

The main key to almost all horror is that the less you know about it the more scary it is. but the more you know about it the less scary it becomes. A good example of this is the Alien series, the more we saw and learned about the aliens the less scary they became since. no alien film was scarier then Alien. but the main killing blow was that massive pile of shit Prometheus and Alien Covenant. they told us pretty much everything about the Aliens where they come from and why they where made and it didn't make them any more interesting or scary, they became boring as fuck and every bit of mystery was ruined for a backstory that never needed to be told.

My main point is that when they humanized 049 he became far less interesting, more is less.
As I said 049 wasn't perfect but I enjoyed it a lot more then this crap.
If I do make more art of 049 in the future it will be about the original I will not treat the rewrite as canon. 

If you liked the rewrite that's fine but I really don't like it. my main hope is that the SCPs I care about like 106 or 2030 never get changed. leave well enouth alone. I feel series 1 is a part of history and should be preserved, I know the main writer had a hand in this too but that's just how I feel.
