Description

Holy shit, did you guy's know Japan has there own SCP branch?
They have a whole bunch of SCPs I've never seen before. It's really interesting.
One SCP that caught my eye was 040-jp since it's got a lot of creepy fan art.

Some friendly Reddit user explains how this SCP works.

The main SCP is an old shack with an apparently bottomless well inside, as seen in the picture. Most of the article is about the anomalous effect that occurs whenever someone directly observes the inside of the shack (this should probably have been written up as "SCP-040-JP-A", but for some reason the author didn't do it that way). Basically, anyone affected by this starts shaking, then becomes absolutely convinced "there was a cat". From then on, whenever they see a domestic cat, it appears to have a hairless, featureless face with two human eyes, as seen in the drawing. They're also convinced a cat is staring at them whenever they're near a dark place.

To make matters worse, the effect is infectious. Victims try to convince others this mysterious cat exists, and it can spread via text, images and other media. The final addendum explains how everyone at Site 8120 had to be given amnestics and let go from the Foundation after the containment report caused an outbreak. The situation seems to be under control, until the last line implies that the researcher writing the addendum has been infected as well.

Creepy right?
